Mahalakshmi Rising Day is considered the day when wealth, fortune, beauty, and auspiciousness in the form of Lakshmi arose from the Milky Ocean during Samudra Manthan (churning of the Milky Ocean). Every year, this day is celebrated on the 11th Waxing Moon in the Tamil month Karthigai (mid-Nov to mid-Dec). It is the most significant day of the year to receive her blessings to destroy poverty consciousness and give birth to new prosperity consciousness. What will I receive?

You will receive the sacred grey ash powder from the Homa and Kum-Kum, which will be blessed in the rituals. Keep this on your meditation altar and wear the sacred ash on your forehead during meditation or at other times to expand the Divine blessings into your life.

The ritual is the carbonization of thoughts. Carbon is our information bearing atoms. The carbon residue (ash) given out as Prasad is to be placed on the third eye area of the participants and carries the blessings of the archetypes invoked.
