July is considered to be the seventh month of the year, according to the Gregorian calendar. The month was named after the Roman general, Julius Caesar, by the Roman Senate, to honor him. July was the month of his birth. It is believed to be the warmest month of the year in the Northern hemisphere and the coldest month of the year in the Southern hemisphere.
